1. Oklahoma City Thunder

Featuring Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, and holding a record of 40 wins and 14 losses, the Thunder are looking like real contenders for the NBA championship. The window for success is definitely open, and a healthy tandem of Westbrook and Durant is a nightmare for any team matching up against the Thunder. However, the window for success only lasts so long and the impending free agency of Kevin Durant is inevitable. Rumors of Durant potentially signing as a free agent with the Golden State Warriors should only fuel the Thunder even more to improve their roster before the trade deadline.

The Thunder have never fully recovered from trading James Harden, and have not been back to the NBA Finals since the trade. Finding a replacement shooting-guard has not been an easy task and the Thunder have tried a slew of players at the position. Kobe Bryant seems like the most logical trade destination and most likely for success. From day one Kobe could be the starter and a starting line-up featuring Westbrook, Kobe, Durant, Serge Ibaka, and Steven Adams looks really good on paper. The shooting-guard trio of Kobe, Dion Waiters, and Anthony Morrow would be highly productive with each player bringing something unique to the table. If Oklahoma City is serious about winning the 2016 NBA Championship they need to strongly consider adding Kobe Bryant to their team.
