9. Sean Davis – Maryland

Sean Davis is a versatile free safety that also has experience playing cornerback. He’s the prototype of the new safety in the NFL that general managers love. He’s explosive, has a nose for the ball and can blitz right off the line of scrimmage.

Playing at Maryland might not have given Davis the recognition that he might have gotten playing at other schools, but rest assured, he has the potential of any other prospect and if he lands in the right situation that can nurture his growth as a player, he has a chance for the big time.

As for weaknesses, while he shows great recognition and awareness of plays, he can get lost in coverage every now and then. He also sometimes loses himself going for the big hit and making the highlight play rather than making the sound tackle.

He might also focus on the quarterback too much to the point that he loses his man and a breakdown in coverage ensues. Still, these are things that can be corrected with the right coaching depending on where he lands in the NFL Draft.

If there’s a talent that oozes potential and has tremendous upside at the next level, it’s Davis.
