5. Brooklyn Nets

The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to add another good piece to their roster for their NBA Finals run. One player that could interest the Cavaliers is Brooklyn Nets forward Thaddeus Young Young is having another solid season for the Nets and with the team’s poor play, he could be on the move soon.

Young is in the midst of a four-year deal, so there’s going to be plenty of contenders after his services. If the Cavaliers are trying to find a team that could be a match for Shumpert, it’s Brooklyn. A deal for Thaddeus Young would also involve Timofey Mozgov as well.

So Brooklyn would get two players and a contract that expires after the year for Young. In Shumpert, Brooklyn would be getting another solid rotational player to add to the mix and a center in Mozgov that could be wildly popular and might even be a good option to re-sign in the off-season.

Depending on what Brooklyn does with Brook Lopez, it could give them more size up front and help the team to continue to transition their roster. With the salary spike that’s incoming, Shumpert’s deal isn’t that bad and he could be movable to a contender down the line.

This is a potential deal that could work out well for both sides. The Nets continue to overturn their roster and the Cavaliers get a good piece to bolster their roster even further.
