FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 19
High Value SF
Marcus Morris-Detroit Pistons (5,600): Marcus Morris will take on his brother tonight after the Suns dealt Markieff to the Wizards just before the deadline. Marcus Morris is in a good matchup against Washington who allows more fantasy points to opposing SF than any other team in the league, but its unclear how Detroit will use Tobias Harris who they picked up at the trading deadline. Harris and Morris will likely be the starting forwards but who is at the three and who is at the four remains to be seen. Morris is an established part of the team, though, so I think his production should be pretty safe tonight as he looks to score double-digits in his tenth straight contest. Morris had at least 25 fantasy points in each of his last five games before the break. ∗∗∗
P.J. Tucker-Phoenix Suns (4,800): As the Suns put together their rotation after trading away Markieff, look for veteran P.J. Tucker to continue to log huge amounts of minutes. Tucker played 46 minutes in each of the Suns last two games before the break and at least 38 minutes in five of his last six games. Tucker doesn’t offer elite scoring, but he does contribute across the board and can produce good fantasy numbers especially when he has multiple steals. Tucker had at least 25 fantasy points in six of his last ten games before the break including posting 32.8 fantasy points against the Rockets who he’ll face again tonight. Tucker is a nice sub-5K option even though he plays for a team that isn’t expected to be competitive the rest of the season. ∗∗∗∗
Matt Barnes-Memphis Grizzlies (4,700): Memphis traded away Courtney Lee and Jeff Green and Zach Randolph is having to play most of his time at center wafer the injury to Marc Gasol. That should leave plenty of time for Barnes at both SF and PF in the near future starting tonight against the Timberwolves. Barnes has been very productive at times this season, and if his role stabilizes he could be a nice mid-range option going forward as well. ∗∗
Justise Winslow-Miami Heat (4,000): Winslow had a productive run for Miami in January as he helped cover for multiple injuries. The team will likely need to call on him to play a larger role again tonight in Atlanta with Chris Bosh injured, Hassan Whiteside suspended, Chris Andersen traded, and Udonis Haslem still past his prime. Winslow flashed some upside throughout the first half of his rookie season, and he’ll need to be very involved as the Heat try to figure out a rotation that works tonight. ∗∗∗∗
Corey Brewer-Houston Rockets (3,900): The Rockets continue to adjust their rotation and shipped out Marcus Thornton to Detroit which eliminates one competitor for Brewer’s minutes. He has played at least 25 minutes in each of the Rockets’ last seven games and posted four games of at least 17 fantasy points during that span. He has the potential to go off like he did when he last faced the Suns (tonight’s opponent) scoring 24 points in 25 minutes for a nice 31.5 fantasy points. If the Rockets run away early and Brewer gets extended playing time, he’ll be a nice bargain tonight although the risk is there that he’ll be less involved if the games stays closer. ∗∗∗
