Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant should choose the Golden State Warriors in free agency

Kevin Durant will enter NBA free agency as the Association’s most coveted prize. There will be no shortage in suitors for one of the most popular basketball players on the planet. The chase for Durant will be hotly contested.

The Golden State Warriors have the ability to clear enough cap space to make their own run at Durant. With minimal salary cap calisthenics, they can find themselves armed with the ability to make a maximum offer of their own to the prolific shooter.

In years past, the idea of a superstar signing with one of his biggest rivals would have been met with intense disapproval. However, LeBron James’ move to Miami has changed the public’s perception of joining up with an already great team. If Durant wants to move to the Bay Area, few fans outside of Oklahoma City will criticize him.

Still, most fans and pundits still give Oklahoma City the hometown advantage in their efforts to retain their superstar. In contrast, it would not be at all surprising to see him land in Golden State when all is said and done. Read on to discover five reasons Durant should send shock waves through the NBA and sign with the Warriors.
