High Salary PG
Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (11,200): Just like on Monday night, we have a stacked ultra-elite group of PG with Westbrook, Paul, and Wall being joined by Damian Lillard. Westbrook delivered on his sky-high price on Monday finishing with 66.75 fantasy points against the Kings on 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 15 assists in his 35 minutes on the floor. He has at least 60 fantasy points in three of his last six games, and can deliver value even at 11K+ if you can figure out how to get his salary under your cap tonight. ∗∗
Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (9,800): CP3 is a great play tonight on the other side of that matchup, and he’s my favorite PG play over 9K tonight. Paul has double-doubles in six of his last seven games with multiple steals in each of his last four with 6+ rebounds in three straight. He lit up the Kings on Friday for 76 fantasy points on 40 points, 13 assists, eight rebounds, and two steals. He is in a good matchup against Westbrook and the Thunder who allow the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG, and the game should be competitive throughout. In contrast, CP3 and the Clippers allow the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing PG which is why I like Paul better than Westbrook although both are good plays tonight. ∗∗∗∗
John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,700): If you can’t wait until late for your PG points, Wall is in a good matchup as well as the Wizards face the T-Wolves. The only reason I prefer CP3 to Wall tonight is the possibility of a blowout in Minnesota. Wall had 60.5 fantasy points on Monday against the 76ers and has at least 49 fantasy points in three of his last five contests. He’s also a good play tonight, and I like him better than Westbrook but less than Paul. ∗∗∗
Kemba Walker-Charlotte Hornets (8,100): Walker had 50 fantasy points last night in just 30 minutes as the Hornets coasted by the Suns. Tonight, he’ll get another favorable matchup as he faces the defense-optional 76ers that John Wall just tore up. Last night’s game was a nice bounce-back for Kemba after being held to just nine points against the Hawks. He has scored at least 20 points in the rest of his last ten games reaching at least 37 fantasy points in seven of those ten contests. He should be good for around 40 fantasy points tonight in a good matchup. ∗∗∗
Jrue Holiday-New Orleans Pelicans (7,800): Holiday is still not starting for New Orleans for reasons that don’t make sense at all, but he is getting enough playing time to have scored at least 20 points in each of his last eight games, and he has added enough steals and assists to get to at least 34 fantasy points in each of those games as well with four games over 45 fantasy points. He is in a pretty good matchup tonight against the Rockets. Anthony Davis is questionable but expected to play, so I expect the Pelicans to put up plenty of points against the Rockets which should result in a big night of points and assists for Holiday. In his two games against Houston this season, Holiday is averaging 20.5 points, six assists, four rebounds, and two steals. ∗∗∗∗
Reggie Jackson-Detroit Pistons (6,600): My favorite option from the 6K range tonight is Reggie Jackson even though he’ll be in a tough matchup as he leads the Pistons into San Antonio. Jackson has at least 30 fantasy points in each of his last five games and should be well-rested since Detroit hasn’t played since Sunday. While the Spurs defense is stifling at home, the one place they do sometimes give up good fantasy days is at PG, so Jackson should find enough room to be productive tonight. I don’t trust Jackson fully, but I like the options around him even less.∗∗
