5. New England Patriots

This might sound like a very awkward fit for Foster after some of his comments about the New England Patriots. However, Foster has matured over the years and would be an excellent fit in Bill Belichick’s offense. He would likely have to take a pay cut in order to make sense for the Patriots. That’s something that Arian Foster might be willing to do considering that he has never made it past the second round of the playoffs.

Foster is a hard worker which would make him a favorite of Belichick. The Patriots have proven that as long as you don’t do anything illegal, it doesn’t matter if you’re a tad bit of a headache as long as you’re productive. As outspoken as Foster is, he isn’t even close to Randy Moss.

Foster would also likely have to take on a lesser role since the Patriots enjoy using substitutions and packages. The presence of Foster and the versatility that he brings could allow the Patriots to run more no-huddle plays. Those plays are excellent at catching defenses off guard. It’s hard to think that Belichick wouldn’t be interested in a running back like Arian Foster.

The Patriots don’t run a zone blocking scheme, but it’s hard to imagine that there wouldn’t be mutual interest between the Patriots and Foster.
