High Value C

Nikola Jokic-Denver Nuggets (6,000): Jokic continues to battle foul trouble and a fickle rotation which makes him a risky play on a nightly basis since his minutes tend to fluctuate seemingly randomly.  He has posted a double-double in each of his last two games and has three games in his last four with at least 30 fantasy points. The upside is definitely there as he faces the Knicks, but he’s risky since rotation or foul trouble can leave him on the bench for long periods of time.

Robin Lopez-New York Knicks (5,800): RoLo has at least 29 fantasy points in four of his last five games and in six of his last eight.  He has thrived under interim coach Kurt Rambis and has scored in double-digits in eight of his ten games with Rambis running things.  Lopez is in a great matchup against the Nuggets and will likely have to log 30+ minutes especially if Porzingis is sidelined again.  He has good upside and is slightly more reliable than Jokic despite his occasional disappearing acts.

Jonas Valanciunas-Toronto Raptors (5,300): Big V has scored in double-digits in ten straight games and has four double-double’s in his last nine contests.  He has at least 31 fantasy points in five of those nine games, and he should be in a place to succeed again tonight against the Nets who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing centers.  While Valanciunas will have his hands full guarding Brook Lopez, he should also be able to make Lopez work on the defensive end and be close to a double-double again tonight which is good value at his price just over 5K. Since he has been so consistent, he’s a safer play than Lopez or Vucevic even though he doesn’t have quite the upside.∗∗
