FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-March 12
High Salary C
Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (8,700): Whiteside had over 40 fantasy points for the fourth straight game last night against the bulls and now has at least 40 fantasy points in eight of his ten games since the All Star break. Whiteside had 13 points, 16 boards, and three blocks in Chicago last night and will look to continue his run of success for Miami as they head to Toronto tonight. The Raptors were just schooled by Brook Lopez, so Whiteside should have another solid game in store tonight even though he continues to come off the bench. ∗∗∗
Andre Drummond-Detroit Pistons (8,600): Drummond had a stinker last night in Charlotte with just five points and nine rebounds while totaling only 15.8 fantasy points in 23 minutes. He battled foul trouble and was underwhelming when he was on the floor not hitting his first FG of the game until the midway point of the fourth quarter. He is in a great matchup to erase the bad taste of last night, though, as he takes on the 76er who have allowed the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing centers. Drummond catches the Sixers at a good time as well since they’re dealing with so many injuries up front. Last night’s downer makes him a little risky, but I love his upside and wouldn’t be surprised with a monster performance. ∗∗∗∗
Alex Len-Phoenix Suns (6,700): Len struggled in Denver on Thursday with just four points to go with his 13 rebounds on his way to 22.1 fantasy points. He has been held under 30 fantasy points in consecutive games now after posting over 50 in each of his previous two. The Suns are committed to running their offense through Len, though, according to coach Earl Watson which will be interesting to see tonight as they take on the Warriors who like to go small. Len’s minutes are hard to predict given the Warriors rotation, but I think he’ll end up with another solid stat line since he has become so much the focus in Phoenix. ∗∗∗∗
Nikola Jokic-Denver Nuggets (6,400): Jokic had a huge game against Len, Tyson Chandler, and the Suns on Thursday totaling 46 fantasy points in just 27 minutes of action on 18 points, ten rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals. he has at least 34 fantasy points in four straight games and seems to avoid foul trouble and play his best when he’s at home in the Mile High City. Tonight, he’ll take on Marcin Gortat and the Wizards who won’t be an easy matchup, but given his stellar multi-category play and Washington’s defensive issues, I like Jokic to put up another good line tonight. ∗∗∗∗∗
