4. Portland Trail Blazers

One of the biggest surprises this season has been the success of the Portland Trail Blazers. During the offseason, the Trail Blazers lost their star forward, LaMarcus Aldridge to the San Antonio Spurs, and it looked like they would be heading into a rebuild mode.

They still had a great young point guard in Damian Lillard after the departure of Aldridge, but that didn’t appear to be enough at the beginning of the season. With the help of a breakout season from C.J. McCollum, the Trail Blazers are likely going to be a playoff team this season, despite not having a ton of talent.

If Howard is interested in winning, the Trail Blazers would be an excellent fit with two fantastic young guards. Up front has been an issue for the Trail Blazers this season, and will be the reason why their playoff run is short-lived, as Mason Plumlee and Meyers Leonard aren’t going to get the job done at center.

If Howard is alright with not being in the flashiest of cities, Portland would be a great fit. Lillard and Howard in the pick-and-roll would be fun to watch, and Howard would also be more of a go-to-guy on offense more than he has been in recent years.
