Since LeBron James left Miami to return home, it has caused rumors of big free agents wanting to do the same for their hometowns. Kevin Durant has been rumored to possibly join John Wall and Bradley Beal in Washington, and maybe home will be where the heart is for Howard this offseason.

The Hawks’ current center, Al Horford, is a free agent this offseason, and will be getting looks from a lot of teams. Horford is a bit undersized at the center position, but with Paul Millsap playing power forward, Horford must play at the center position. Millsap isn’t going anywhere after signing his long-term deal, but he and Horford have had their issues on the defensive end.

Millsap has really evolved his game, as he is just as dangerous playing with his back to the basket as he is from beyond the arc now. The ideal power forward playing next to Howard is one that can shoot the basketball to help with spacing.

The Hawks may not be the best team in the Eastern Conference anymore, but they are still very good with a lot of good pieces on the roster. If the Hawks decide not to re-sign Horford, or he goes elsewhere, Howard would certainly entertain the idea of heading back home.
