One of the toughest things for NBA players is leaving a franchise they have been with for a long time. With the ties to the community and teammates that form over a decade or more with a team, moving on to another team becomes more than just leaving a city. One player who went through this transition recently was Jameer Nelson, a player who spent the first 10 years of his NBA career in Orlando before being waived in 2014 to allow him to play for a contender, something the Magic were not.

Despite being out of Orlando for over a season now, Nelson’s love for the franchise is clearly still present.

While this may seem like a normal thing to some people in the case of Nelson it isn’t. The Magic and Nuggets are in two different conferences and neither are on track to make the playoffs, meaning that Nelson could completely ignore his old franchise and be completely right to do so. But deep down there really does seem to be a love between Nelson and the Magic and he does really seem to want his old team to do well.
