Prison life has been rough for Jared Fogle

Prison has not been kind to ex-Subway pitchman Jared Fogle.

Since starting a 15-year prison sentence for having sex with a minor prostitute and owning child pornography, Jared Fogle has been doing his best to reconnect with his past and move forward.

For years as the healthy Subway pitchman, he had to stick to a strict diet of 6-inch sandwiches and a bag of baked chips. In prison he has been able to reconnect with one of his true loves, pastries and baked goods.

According to former ‘cellmates’, his breakfasts consist largely of Frosted Flakes and oatmeal, and his favorites days of the week in prison are the twice weekly ‘cake days’.  But the true love behind bars, instead of pictures of pre-teen boys, is honey buns, of which he can go through an entire box of in one sitting.

He’s also trying really hard to make new friends. Instead of walking to Subway for exercise, like he did to lose all the weight in the first place, he is visiting the recreational yard and the gym to try and connect with new people.

So far, though, it hasn’t gone well. According to various sources the other inmates have welcomed him with slaps in the face, and most recently, a good old fashioned beating in the yard.

During a recent fracas in the prison’s exercise yard, another inmate jumped Fogle and started pummeling his face, leaving him with a swollen face, scratches and a bloody nose.

Jared’s sentence runs until 2029, so he has plenty of time to try other ways to make friends behind bars, and continue to pack on the pounds enjoying his new obsession and real friends, sticky buns.
