No. 11 Wichita State over No. 3 Miami

There are three inevitable things in life that anyone can be sure of: Death, taxes, and the Wichita State Shockers coming up against big-name programs and finding success in March Madness. After earning a berth to the 2016 NCAA Tournament in a First Four matchup and then advancing, the Shockers kept that trend in tact as they topped the Arizona Wildcats. Now they have a bigger challenge in front of them in a highly talented Miami Hurricanes team.

Both the Shockers and the Hurricanes will come into their Second Round matchup against one another needing their respective backcourts to carry them to victory. For Wichita State, they’ll look for Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet to lead the way as they have all season when they’ve both been healthy. For Miami, it’s a slew of players highlighted by Sheldon McClellan and Angel Rodriguez, all of whom had great seasons.

Though Miami is far from inexperienced, Wichita State has more run in this type of high-pressure March Madness environment. Given that, I like for Baker, VanVleet and the Shockers to come up big once again in the NCAA Tournament and to knock off Miami to go to the Sweet 16 yet again.
