No. 11 Gonzaga over No. 3 Utah

From the moment that the 2016 March Madness bracket was announced, it felt like being put in as a No. 11 seed was heavily disrespectful to the Gonzaga Bulldogs. After they went into the First Round of March Madness and were able to dispatch a talented Seton Hall Pirates team, though, that seems even more the case. Now they’ll really have the chance to prove that as they take on the No. 3 seed Utah Utes.

This matchup in the Second Round between Utah and Gonzaga is almost surely going to come down to the battle in the frontcourt. Both the Utes and the Bulldogs are led by star big men with Jakob Poeltl for Utah and Domantas Sabonis and Kyle Wiltjer for Gonzaga. Who wins this matchup on Saturday, though, may be determined by which team’s big men are able to seize the moment and advance to the Sweet 16.

Admittedly being quite high on Sabonis and his talent, I think that he and Gonzaga will be able to roll through this Second Round matchup in March Madness and take down yet another higher seed. Though that may just be because Gonzaga should’ve received a better seed, it’s still always going to be an upset whenever a No. 11 seed defeats a No. 3 seed.
