7. No. 11 Gonzaga vs No. 10 Syracuse

This matchup between the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Syracuse Orange might come in last in regards to watchability for many people. After all, there are only two double-digit seeds in the Sweet 16 this year and they both happen to be playing one another. However, both of these teams might be better than their seeding and there are still some things that are going to be fun to watch.

For one, seeing how Gonzaga’s star big man in Domantas Sabonis plays against the zone defense of Syracuse is going to be intriguing as they might look to pack it in a bit tighter than normal. However, they’ll need to balance that out with trying to defend the other Bulldogs big man in senior Kyle Wiltjer as he’s a threat from long-range. Seeing how the Orange go about this balancing act on the defensive end is going to be something to watch for.

However, the Syracuse offense has been hit or miss for much of the season and the Gonzaga guards have been inconsistent all year. Throw in the zone defense for this game, and it has the chance to be a bit dragging at times and might actually bore quite a few people. Sure, there’s talent to watch, but it might not fully have a chance to shine in this game.
