5. The Washington Redskins are dysfunctional

Robert Griffin III has received a lot of negative media coverage. That coverage, however, needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The Redskins organization has long been a team where decent talent goes to die.

Unfortunately for Robert Griffin III, he was at the beginning of a promising career when he crossed paths with the Washington football team. The team that destroyed its relationship with RGIII is the same team that brought the NFL one of the most absurd contracts of all time, signing Albert Haynesworth to a seven-year, $100-million contract. Haynesworth was a tremendous talent, but ended up botching plays with disturbing frequency, including this gem from 2010.

The Washington football team is the opposite of King Midas. Everything they touch becomes worthless. After so many years in NFL purgatory, RGIII deserves a second chance with a team where he is viewed as a valued teammate, not a liability.

What does Washington’s dysfunction have to do with the Browns? Even though the Browns are a disastrous organization, RGIII would probably be relieved to play for the Browns after the Redskins courted him and then dropped him in such a humiliating way. There aren’t many players out there who would feel that way about playing in Cleveland.
