High Salary PG

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (10,600): Westbrook went off for 56.2 fantasy points last night in Toronto while posting his fourth triple-double in his last six games and his seventh triple-double of March. Westbrook has at least 40 fantasy points in each of his last eight games, and he’ll be a pretty safe investment again tonight as OKC travels to Detroit to complete their back-to-back against the Pistons who are on a playoff push of their own. Westbrook only played 34 minutes last night, so he should be ready to roll at full strength in the Motor City.

Stephen Curry-Golden State Warriors (10,500): Curry only had 39.6 fantasy points against the 76ers on Easter Sunday, but he had run off three straight games with over 45 fantasy points prior to that outing.  He always has the potential to go off and carry the Warriors if they need him, and he’s in a good matchup tonight against the Wizards.  When Golden State visited Washington, Curry tore up the Wizards for 51 points to go with seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Curry hasn’t had any monster scoring games like that in a few weeks, so you could definitely argue that he’s “due” and in a good matchup at home. However, he is high-risk due to his price and the fact that coach Steve Kerr is trying to get his stars rest even while they continue their pursuit of history.

John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,700): When Curry and the Warriors visited DC, he wasn’t the only PG to have a monster game. Wall finished with 41 points, ten assists, three rebounds, and two steals of his own against Curry even though ultimately the Wizards couldn’t keep up with the high-scoring Warriors.  Wall has had a strong run lately averaged 21.1 points, 12.1 assists, and 5.3 rebounds as he tries to help Washington battle into the playoffs.  Currently they sit ninth in the Eastern Conference and need to get every win they can coming down the stretch. I think of the three elite-PG options, Wall is the least risky since he costs less, and there’s no danger of him not getting ALL the minutes tonight.∗∗

Kyrie Irving-Cleveland Cavaliers (7,000): Personal life issues aside, Irving should come out ready to torch the Rockets tonight since LeBron will be taking the night off.  When James sits, there are plenty of shots for Irving even though the Cavs have had disappointing results without “The King.” Since James let everyone know he was out for tonight in plenty of time, Irving will get a ton of attention tonight, but he’s still a great play in the early game of the National TV double-header.

Reggie Jackson-Detroit Pistons (6,000): Jackson’s price has dropped significantly since he was battling bronchitis and playing limited minutes last week.  He did play 29 and 30 minutes in the Pistons last two games in a back-to-back Thursday and Friday so he seems to be past the worst of his illness.  Hopefully he feels up to tonight’s game since he’ll get to take on his former team the Thunder. Jackson had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, an two steals when he and the Pistons visited OKC earlier this season, but I think he can outperform those numbers if he’s 100% tonight especially since the Thunder have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing PG this season and will be on their second game in as many nights.
