No. 1 – Boston Celtics

Don’t look now, but the one proud organization may be getting closer to being a force to be reckoned with in the NBA again. The Celtics have a nice little team that has shown to be scrappy and could make a decent run in the postseason with some favorable playoff seeding.

Where Boston has an advantage over some other playoff teams who can get better by adding Jimmy Butler is they have so many picks from other trades that they can part with some in an effort to close the deal. In addition, they can move the contracts of players like Jae Crowder (a teammate of Butler when the two were in college at Marquette) and make it a win-win for both teams.

Much in the same way as a move to the Lakers would be, Jimmy Butler wouldn’t be caught up in the history of the Celtics and all the ghosts that look down on the current roster. Butler staying in the Eastern Conference may not be what the Bulls want if they are to get rid of Butler, but the Celtics may be able to offer a sweet deal that is just too much for Chicago to pass up.
