The influx of offensive assets could very well continue into the third round for the Houston Texans. Considering the team returns almost everyone from a defense that ranked third in the NFL last season, this might not be a bad idea.

Aside from offensive line and wide receiver, tight end is another area that Houston should look to address before next season. Especially with the team cutting Garrett Graham last month.

Graham recorded career-highs in 2013 with 49 receptions for 545 yards and five touchdowns but failed to find a place in the offense after Bill O’Brien took over for former head coach Gary Kubiak the following offseason. The 29-year old recorded a combined 227 receiving yards over the course of the past two seasons, with a mere four receptions in 2015.

Expect the Texans to select a tight end to pair with 2014 third round pick C.J. Fiedorowicz and former sixth round pick Ryan Griffin at some point in the draft, and do not be surprised if they do so in the early rounds.

Ohio State’s Nick Vannett would be an intriguing option at the position that could potentially crack the starting lineup as a rookie.

Despite not having his talents fully highlighted in the Buckeyes’ offense, he possesses serious potential that cannot be ignored. His 6-foot-6, 257-pound frame is ideal for making an immediate impact at the professional level, and with deceptive speed and reliable hands, he could be a sleeper in the upcoming draft.
