Here are the five reasons why the New York Rangers can go out and win the 2016 Stanley Cup.

It may not be the same drought that once hung over Madison Square Garden and the hockey team that played inside, but fans of the New York Rangers are getting anxious about wanting to bring the Stanley Cup back to the Big Apple after another playoff championship.

After two seasons of being one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference, the Rangers have taken a step back and are seen as an underdog by many in their first round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It’s the third straight season the teams have played in the postseason, with the previous two meetings being won by New York.

The last two seasons, the Rangers have been within shouting distance of being champions of the NHL. Is 2016 finally the year they are able to get back to hoisting Lord Stanley around the streets of Manhattan as the last team standing when it is all said and done?
