Miami Marlins. Don Mattingly. 3. player. 82. . Manager

When Mattingly came to South Florida following a successful stint managing the Los Angeles Dodgers, folks in the 305 thought that their team was going to be the surprise of the MLB and it was back to the playoffs for one of the biggest joke franchises in all of sports.

Since the 2016 MLB season officially got underway, the Marlins have been treading water and sit at 3-7 on the season (thanks to two wins over the New York Mets). Things took a sour note this past weekend when the Marlins were swept at home by a Atlanta Braves team that entered the series winless (0-9).

Statistically, the Marlins are 20th in the MLB in batting (11th in the National League) and 22nd in pitching (ninth in the NL). Those numbers wouldn’t be such a big deal if the team didn’t have big money players like Giancarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon in the lineup and ace Jose Fernandez back and healthy on the mound. With the Marlins’ history of firing managers just for fun, Donnie Baseball might not be in that atrocious looking stadium for much longer.
