A full 7-round mock draft attempting to predict what the Washington Redskins will do during the NFL Draft

It’s year two of the Scot McCloughan era in the nation’s capital and the general manager of the Washington Redskins has already been behind some positive change for his team. After winning the NFC East with a 9-7 record, McCloughan allowed former second overall pick Robert Griffin III to leave and used the franchise tag on the quarterback who stole his job, Kirk Cousins.

They’ve also done something very rare for Washington, they stayed quiet during free agency. By avoiding huge name players, the Redskins are showing faith in their guys and players like defensive end Ricky Jean Francois have taken notice.

“I’m excited about what he’s doing,” Jean Francois said via John Keim of ESPN. “I understand a lot of people say he didn’t bring in a lot of big names. You’ve got to know Scot McCloughan; he doesn’t like big name guys. As you can see with our [defensive backs], we got guys off the street and he brought them in and they did a wonderful job for us. I can only imagine what he’s going to do with the draft. I understand he [wants] 12 picks. I believe that first and second pick are up for grabs to get what he wants.”

Teams that are trying to dethrone the Redskins in the NFC East probably aren’t as excited about the new approach and discipline they are showing. They probably also aren’t excited to see what they do in the draft, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t. So here we go with a 7-round mock draft as we try to predict how things will shake out for Washington.
