2. Bernard Williams

The offensive tackle from Georgia lived up to the hype in his rookie NFL season, but things turned bad shortly after that. Bernard Williams had a positive drug test following the 1994 NFL season, destroying all the momentum he had built up. He looked like he could be on the path to the Hall of Fame career, but his career was over almost as soon as it had started.

Williams was suspended by the league and was never to be seen again. A great rookie season was wasted and the fans were unable to see Williams build upon his all-rookie team performances.

Fans remember Williams’s great rookie season, but they will remember his failed drug test even more. Doing drugs isn’t worth the risk, and Williams learned that lesson the hard way as he was out of the league by the age of 23. The sky was the limit for Williams, but his mistake cost him any chance of being a successful NFL player.
