Jared Goff, QB, California

The Los Angeles Rams have desperately needed a franchise quarterback since Marc Bulger, and they believe the savior is here in Jared Goff. General manager Les Snead swapped first-round picks with the Tennessee Titans along with giving up a pair of second-round selections this year and two third-round picks, one in 2016 and the other next year. The price is steep, but Snead feels the Rams can finally get back into the playoffs for the first time since 2003 with Goff at the helm.

Whether or not Goff is the answer remains to be seen. He was not allowed to do much at the line of scrimmage and didn’t make many pro-style throws and reads at Cal, but he has all the tools. He was a four-year starter for the Golden Bears and got better each season, showcasing he learns quickly.

Goff will have to rely heavily on second-year running back Todd Gurley, who came off a torn ACL in his senior season at the University of Georgia to rush for more than 1,000 yards as a rookie. The Rams don’t have much in the passing game, so Goff must make the most of his situation early on while Los Angeles tries to replenish the receiving corps.
