3. Tyler Chatwood-Colorado Rockets (3.7%)

Chatwood has made two starts at home and two starts on the road, and he has dramatically disparate splits.  In his two road starts he has been outstanding going 2-0 with a 0.68 ERA while holding opponents to a .180 average.  However, at home, he has gone 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA while allowing opponents to hit a robust .378 off him. Part of the crazy splits is that he does pitch his home games at Coors Field, but I also think he’s due for a good home start as he takes the mound in the Mile High City this afternoon against the Pirates.

Chatwood didn’t pitch in the Majors last season due to a second Tommy John surgery, but he is showing signs he could be able to come back this season with solid numbers for a Rockies team always in need of starting pitching.  He has alternated his good outings with his bad outing,s and if he continues that pattern today is a day for a good start.

Chatwood is extremely risky since he’s pitching at home in Coors Field against a solid Pirates’ lineup, but I think he has a shot at a win in a matchup with former-teammate Juan Nicasio who enters his start with a 4.50 ERA and a 2-2 record in his first year with the Pirates.
