3. Kevin Gausman-Baltimore Orioles (30.3%)

Gausman looked good in his first start of the season for the Orioles striking out seven against the Rays and allowing just one run on three hits.  He only managed to go five innings since it was his first MLB start after a shoulder injury forced him to work his way back through the Minors after Spring Training.

Gausman definitely has strikeout potential as he showed everyone last season striking out 103 in 112.1 innings.  Throughout his rehab and his first start, though, he has struggled a bit with his command which has resulted in high pitch counts and low innings total.  He’ll need to get his pitch count under control before he is an elite option, but I definitely think he can be a solid streaming option even though he faces a tough matchup tonight.

The White Sox have started the season red hot and are 16-8 even after taking a loss in Baltimore last night. Gausman will try to help Baltimore make it two in a row over Chicago tonight, but he’s in a tough matchup against Mat Latos who has been outstanding so far this season for Chicago. A win will be hard to come by for Gausman tonight, but I do like the potential he has for strikeouts and he’s a solid addition if you’re looking for someone to hold more than just one start in your season-long league as well.
