A look at the selections made by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft
Coming into the 2016 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles surely had the attention of everyone. Trading up to the No. 2 slot, everyone expected something major from this organization and they certainly delivered, selecting quarterback Carson Wentz out of North Dakota State.
Here’s a look at the full list of 2016 NFL Draft picks for the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend.
- Round 1 (2) – Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
- Round 3 (16) – Isaac Semaulo, G, Oregon State
- Round 5 (14) – Wendell Smallwood, RB, West Virginia
- Round 5 (25) – Halapoulivaati Vaitai, T, TCU
- Round 6 (21) – Blake Countess, DB, Auburn
- Round 7 (12) – Jalen Mills, S, LSU
- Round 7 (19) – Alex McCallister, DE, Florida
- Round 7 (30) – Joe Walker, LB, Oregon
Without a doubt, all eyes in this draft when it comes to the Eagles will be about that quarterback position. With Sam Bradford and the team still really at a standstill, it will be interesting to see where they go from here.
The selection of Smallwood at running back is also interesting, as there’s a chance he could provide some nice versatility to that Philadelphia backfield. There’s always a need for shifty running backs in this league, and that is just what Smallwood was for the Mountaineers.
No question, the Eagles will be a team to watch this season after this draft.
