3. Alex Wood-Los Angeles Dodgers (32.0%)

It’s been an uneven start to the season for Wood and the Dodgers, but there were some very encouraging signs in his last start even though he didn’t pick up the win. He comes into today’s start with a 1-2 record and 4.82 ERA, but he is trending the right way after a rough start.

Wood struck out a season-high nine batters against the Padres on Friday allowing just one run on five hits and a walk in seven strong innings. He didn’t get nay run support so took a no-decision in a game the Dodgers eventually lost 5-1. He was knocked around the start before, but that was in Colorado which is a place where many pitchers put up a unfavorable outlier.

Wood should be in a good matchup tonight as he faces the Rays in Tampa. He has never pitched at the Trop in his MLB career or faced the Rays. The Dodgers offense put up ten runs last night, and if they can get their bats in gear, Wood should be in line for some wins if he pitches like he did in his last start
