No. 4 – Laquon Treadwell, Wide Receiver

On draft day, Treadwell was not the first receiver to come off the board. But, he is in one of the better situations. Treadwell was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings, which is a great spot for his talents.

If you watched the Vikings last season, it was obvious to see that they sorely missed a big bodied pass catcher. The selection of the Ole Miss product solves that need. Treadwell is not a speed threat, or a slot receiver. He is a jump-ball, physical, possession receiver.

Treadwell will no doubt love having Teddy Bridgewater as his quarterback. While Bridgewater does not have the strongest NFL arm, he does have solid accuracy and anticipation which makes up for his weaker arm. The pairing of Treadwell and Bridgewater will be a nice core to build around.

Lastly, I fully expect Treadwell to be ready to make an impact early because he is coached by legendary offensive coordinator Norv Turner. While Turner flunked out of the NFL as a head coach, he has developed his fair share of receivers. Additionally, Turner is amazing at creating game plans that use a player’s talent properly.

The former Ole Miss Rebel may not be a 1,000 yard guy his rookie season, but he will help the Vikings contend for a playoff spot.
