29. player. 29.
Virginia’s Malcolm Brogdon is a high character 23-year old with an excellent basketball IQ. He has the ability to play both guard positions, but will probably be most at home playing from the shooting guard spot. At 6-5.5 with a 6-10.5 wingspan, he already has the size to play against NBA opponents. His offensive skill set is impressive as he was the primary scorer for Virginia during his senior season and averaged 21.4 points per 40 minutes.

Brogdon is a good outside shooter, connecting on 36.5 percent of his 507 three-point attempts during his four years in college, but it’s worth noting that he appeared to improve quite a bit from his freshman (32.4 percent) to senior season (39.1 percent). He has experience shooting off the dribble and running off of screens to help get himself open for quality looks. The 23-year old should have no problem shouldering some ball-handling duties if necessary.

Defensively, Brogdon lacks elite athleticism, but he does good length and excellent fundamentals. As a senior, he was named Defensive Player of the Year in the ACC. He also has four years of experience playing in Tony Bennett’s pack-line defense, which should help him transition to the NBA as he adjusts to new defensive schemes.

To read more about Malcolm Brogdon, <a href=.
