7. Josh Hader, Milwaukee Brewers

Hader has been relentlessly stingy this season for the Double-A outpost for the Brewers, allowing four earned runs over his first 34 innings and seven starts. In that time, he has averaged over 11 strikeouts per nine innings, establishing himself as one of the top left-handed starters in all of the minors. This is on the heels of a fantastic Arizona Fall League season, where he carried a 0.56 ERA over 16 innings.

Hader should be rushed to the Majors once June hits, as the majority of the Brewers staff has been a travesty. Jimmy Nelson has been fantastic in light of his surroundings, while Junior Guerra has been solid as well. But outside of those two, Brewers pitching has been abysmal, with none of the other five pitchers that have made a start this year carrying an ERA lower than 5.58.

This is a natural opening for Hader, who was acquired as a part of the Carlos Gomez trade a year ago. He should be in line for 15+ starts this year, which will give him an opportunity to cut his teeth in the majors and begin to forge the building blocks for the club’s long-term pitching future.
