Townsend Bell and Ryan Hunter Reay had one of the more unfortunate accidents on Sunday, colliding in the pits
When it comes to the Indy 500 –or any race for that matter– you’re bound to see some pretty unfortunate accidents; that’s one of the dangers that you deal with when it comes to motor sports. Generally, though, these accidents happen on the track at top speed and not in the pits — but for Townsend Bell and Ryan Hunter Reay, they were the exception to the rule.
Sunday afternoon the annual Indy 500 is taking place, and these two top drivers of course had high hopes for a victory in this one. But, that all came to a screeching halt and it came to that halt while they were just trying to get back on the track.
As you’ll see below, the two stars collided with one another while in the pits, which is one of the more unfortunate ways that you can see your race come to an abrupt end.

That’s just absolutely heartbreaking for both drivers, but these mix ups will happen in the pits from time to time.
