2016 NBA Mock Draft: How high can Marquese Chriss climb?

Deyonta Davis . 18. player. 64. <p>The Detroit Pistons need additional depth to help fill out their roster, and Michigan State’s Deyonta Davis is a prospect who can play either the power forward or center spot. While he may not develop into a starter-quality player for several years, the potential is there for him to be an effective defender and viable offensive threat.</p> <p>Davis’s defense is one of his best characteristics. He moves well when matched up against smaller defenders and has excellent size (6-10.5 with a 7-2.5 wingspan) to challenge shots along the perimeter. On the inside, he is athletic enough to be a good rim protector. During his freshman season, Davis averaged 3.9 blocks per 40 minutes, the fourth highest number among collegiate centers in the draft class.</p> <p>Offensively, Davis is unlikely to create offense for himself at this point, but he’s not going to be useless on that end of the floor. His excellent motor translates well on the offensive boards, where he grabbed 13.5 percent of available misses when he was on the floor this season. He also shows good footwork and hands as a cutter and roll man. Davis may eventually be able to develop into a competent mid-range shooter, but for now he’s going to collect the trash around the rim and attack mostly via the pick-and-roll.</p> <p><em>To read more about Deyonta Davis, <a href=
