66.
A Celtics’ trade at number three may be just what the Phoenix Suns are looking for on draft day. The Suns are in a difficult position at four if Boston selects Bender because the remaining top prospects on the board are not ideal selections for Phoenix’s current roster. Bender, on the other hand, would fill the void at the power forward left by the departure of Markieff Morris. If the Celtics and Philadelphia, for example, complete a deal, then Phoenix will likely be in a position to land Bender with their top first round pick.

If things don’t change at the top, Utah’s Jakob Poeltl would be a solid selection for the Suns. While Phoenix does have two centers currently on its roster, neither projects as a long-term solution at the position. Poeltl, though, has the potential to be a solid two-way center who can provide rim protection and mobility on defense to go with solid pick-and-roll play on the offensive end. While the 20-year-old sophomore doesn’t have the lengthiest wingspan (7-2.75), he did average 2.5 blocks per 40 minutes in college while compiling a decent, but not outstanding, 6.5 percent block rate. He showed solid movement along the perimeter when required to guard against opposing pick-and-roll actions as well. Offensively, Poeltl will excel as a roll man. He has good hands and can finish well around the rim. As the Utes’ focal point this season, he averaged 22.7 points per 40 minutes, a seven point increase from last year.

To read more about Jakob Poeltl, <a href=. PF. Utah.
