5. The 76ers add at a position of need

The Philadelphia 76ers have been in dire need of a point guard on their roster that can carry the team on the floor. Over the last few years, the 76ers have been taking the best player available in the draft, but those players have all been big men.

Over the last few weeks, there have been reports of the 76ers looking to move one of their big men, although most people have thought it would be Jahlil Okafor would be the one on the move.

If the rumored deal between Philadelphia and Atlanta does go down, it sparks the new era of basketball under the Colangelo’s watch. The 76ers have just tanked multiple seasons and they have amassed a core of talent on the roster.

Their likely pick in the draft will be Ben Simmons with the No. 1 overall pick and with Joel Embiid returning, Dario Saric coming from overseas and potentially still having Jahlil Okafor, the team needed to get a guard out there.

The team needed depth at the point guard position and with Ish Smith and T.J. McConnell, the 76ers have another young player and a veteran to back up Teague. Don’t be surprised if they add a veteran backup either.
