NBA Draft: 5 players Chicago Bulls need to target
Who do the Bulls want to see on the board for their first pick of the 2016 NBA Draft?
The Bulls are entering an off-season with a plethora of questions. This off-season Joakim Noah will be a free agent. Aside from the lifelong Chicago Bull since 2007 potentially moving on, Pau Gasol also has a player option giving him a chance to test free agency, and he fully intends on taking that oppurtunity.
That is just the start, as their former super star Derrick Rose now enters the final year of his max deal, which he will make just about two million more than the teams current super star, Jimmy Butler. Butler has also expressed some concern and displeasure with the new coaching staff and the way that things have gone since the front office let go of Tom Thibodeau.
With four starters either wanting to leave the team, or at least looking to explore their options, the Bulls have big decisions to make. They can either try to bring back the veteran bigs, and take a shot at beating LeBron James in the playoffs again, or they can blow it up, commit to a long term rebuild around Jimmy Butler, and hope that this will soothe his ego.
That creates a variety of options for this team as they enter the 2016 NBA draft. This is a team that does not usually pick in the lottery, and even when they are it is like this year, they are picking at the very bottom with pick number fourteen. Still, this gives them the chance to add a decent piece, and they will surely face the decision of going with a young, high upside player, or adding a piece who can fit in right away and help this team compete in the very near future.
