Aside from potentially losing Derrick Rose, the Bulls are also potentially dealing with the loss of Aaron Brooks. Brooks is a free agent this year, and in a way to save money, the Bulls could be looking to let Brooks walk and instead draft a rookie who is capable of playing the sixth man point guard role.

Jackson is 21 years old, and has high quality experience by being a top performer on the past two Notre Dame teams that made tournament runs. If the Bulls are looking at Jackson they are more than likely looking to pull this team together and go for it this year.

Jackson would fit right into the Brooks role, and has played up-tempo basketball, something that head coach Fred Hoiberg is looking to do. He is also an above average defender, and with time a duo of him and Jimmy Butler could be one of the faster and stronger pairs on the defensive side of the ball.

He doesn’t neccessarily have strong upside, and at best he is probably a low end starter or a solid sixth man off of the bench, but this is not really the deepest or most talented draft either and to get a player who can contribute immediately, and fits next to your up and coming star Butler, Jackson makes plenty of sense here.
