If the Bulls are looking into Diamond Stone it would mean that they are shooting for the stars, and hoping that him and Jimmy Butler can mesh and create and inside-outside game for the future. Stone is still very young at age 19, and with that is very raw in his abilites.

What you are drafting however, is a 6’11” athlete with NBA size and strength and a decent amount of upside. Athletically, Stone will not get much more gifted, and his game is best played under the hoop and defending the rim.

While he possesses strong big man abilities, he also has the ability to step away from the paint and hit shots. He is better at running the floor than he may get credit for too.

In his only year in college basketball we really saw two sides of Stone. There is the guy who projects to be a pure center and a strong rim protector, and then there is the Stone who looked disengaged, and was still learning the nuances of the games.

The Bulls should not feel well about the status of Noah and Gasol, and they are going to need somebody who can defend the rim and play in the paint. Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis are young up and comers with size, but neither can fully man the center position going forward.

Both however, would be good fits next to Stone, as both of them can shoot better than Stone giving him more chances to utilize his size in the paint. The Bulls could be completing a young and up and coming front court to pair with Jimmy Butler in the back court that gives this team an encouraging future.
