Wouldn’t it be something if Kevin Wesley Love played for the franchise whose greatest player he is named after? Love’s father and former NBA player Stan Love named his son after dear friend and Washington Bullets legend Wes Unseld.

With Washington, Love could get back to playing in the manner he starred for Minnesota. Though the Wizards have two decent starting big men in power forward Marcin Gortat and center Nene, Love could easily usurp one of the two in the Wizards’ starting five.

Love needs to get back to playing great offense in the low post and crashing the boards if he wants to be a top 15 player in the NBA again. Though he could still stretch the floor for new head coach Scott Brooks like he does with the Cavaliers, he probably won’t need to with the bevy of backcourt talent already on the Wizards.

As for what it would take to trade Love to the Wizards, Cleveland may get the Wizards to do a sign-and-trade with shooting guard Bradley Beal and swap him for Love. Beal when healthy is a more dynamic player than James’ favorite two-guard J.R. Smith.

If James is adamant about starting Smith at shooting guard, then they could ask for Gortat and a future unprotected first round pick. Keep in mind that Washington doesn’t have a first round pick in 2016 because of the Markieff Morris trade with the Phoenix Suns at the NBA trade deadline.

However it manifests, it still seems like Washington is a place that Love could succeed in the back-end of his prime with an All-Star at point guard in John Wall and Brooks getting his second go-around as an NBA head coach after a successful seven-year stint with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
