West. Pacific. Phoenix Suns. 4. player. 66.

If Love wants to best recreate what he had as the star of the Timberwolves before leaving for Cleveland in summer 2014, perhaps the Phoenix Suns could offer him that kind of nostalgia?

Phoenix won’t be expected to contend in the Western Conference for the next several years, as the Suns’ 2015-16 NBA campaign was nothing more than an utter disaster. That being said, Phoenix has two solid, albeit often hurt, point guards in Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight.

Newly promoted head coach Earl Watson seems to have this young team’s ear. Shooting guard Devin Booker was easily the most pleasant surprise of any rookie in his class with his great All-Rookie First Team season. Even bigs like Alex Len and Tyson Chandler would offer Love some added protection down low so he can appropriately play his ideal brand of power forward.

With virtually no expectations, a promising young coach, and a ton of draft picks, Phoenix feels like a team that could be an ideal trade destination for Love should the Cavaliers be remotely interested.

Phoenix has four picks in the 2016 NBA Draft including No. 4 overall and No. 13 overall. Combine either of those picks with Len –and maybe one other player– and the Cavaliers could have themselves a pretty sweet deal. Len would in a way replace the frustrating player that is Timofey Mozgov, who Cavaliers general manager David Griffin traded away two future first-round picks to the Denver Nuggets for.

It might take the No. 4 pick and Len to bring Love to the Valley of the Sun, but he would almost certainly be happier playing for Phoenix as the best player on maybe a top 10 team in the West in 2016-17.
