5. Los Angeles Clippers

If there’s been a built-in rivalry that goes past these past couple of seasons for the Golden State Warriors, it’s their rivalry with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Although the Warriors swept the season series against the Clippers this year, the Clippers are one of those teams that would push the Warriors if they met in the playoffs.

The two teams were destined for a meeting in the playoffs this year, until the Clippers suffered injuries to both Chris Paul and Blake Griffin in the first round of the playoffs. If the Clippers can have those guys healthy in the playoffs, they’ll give the Warriors a run for their money.

This is an interesting offseason for the Clippers, as they are limited in the money that they can use to bring in players to build around their core three of Paul, Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. If the front office can make savvy moves, then perhaps they’ll be able to be the ones to knock off Golden State.

They have done it before, but that was before Steve Kerr came around and replaced Mark Jackson. These two teams don’t like each other and that’s what makes their rivalry all the better.
