Who stands the best chance of knocking the Golden State Warriors off their throne in the 2016-2017 season?

The Golden State Warriors don’t appear to be slowing down in the 2016 NBA Finals and are just two games away from winning their second straight championship. While things can certainly change in their series with the Cleveland Cavaliers, it appears that the Warriors are just on a completely different level from the Cavaliers.

With the Warriors having won 73 games this year and gotten better, the big question is whether or not anyone is going to be able to knock them off in the future. While they are rolling in the NBA Finals against the Cavaliers, they showed some vulnerability in the Western Conference Playoffs this year.

While a lot of that had to do with Stephen Curry’s ankle and knee, teams in the playoffs brought their best against the Warriors and there were even some teams that they didn’t play in the playoffs that proved that they could push them if they ever meet up.

While the Warriors improved from from 67 to 73 wins this season, it’s hard to see a team getting better than that. The law of averages will probably see them regress back to a team that wins 60-plus games, which would still make them probably the best team in the league.

If someone is going to knock them off, it’s going to be a team that has laid the groundwork already and has shown some success against them in the past. If the Warriors are going down in the 2016-2017 season, these are the five teams that could give them a run for their money.
