2016 Mock Draft: Simmons, Ingram, Bender still on top

player. 73. Buddy Hield is the type of guy everyone wants to root for — he wasn’t a huge star from the genesis of his NCAA career, but now everyone knows and loves Buddy Buckets. Hield is a rare breed who stayed in college through his senior season and will still end up being a top-10 pick. Teams simply value youth so much more than experience when it comes to the draft. <p>Hield is 22-years old and had a monster season for the Oklahoma Sooners posting 25 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point distance. Okay, so we have another high volume, inefficient scorer in our midst — wrong. Hield finished his senior campaign with a true shooting percentage of 66.5 which is bananas when you consider his usage rate of 30.22 — high volume, yes; inefficient, quite the opposite.</p> <p>The Nuggets have done really well over their last couple drafts and seem to be headed in the right direction in terms of their franchise’s health. Adding a knock-down shooter like Hield to the mix would be a safe play here at No. 7.
