Los Angeles Rams. Jeff Fisher. 5. player. 51. . Head Coach

If you want your team to go 8-8 annually, hire Jeff Fisher. His teams will hover around Wild Card contention and may even upset a team or two should they make the NFL Playoffs. While he’s been a great players’ coach with both the Tennessee Titans and the then St. Louis Rams, now that the Rams play in Los Angeles, he won’t be able to hide in relative obscurity any more.

Yes, the Rams under Fisher have done a marvelous job of holding their own in tough NFC West battles with the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks, but winning outside of its brutal division has been difficult for Fisher’s Rams in these last few years.

Los Angeles has an elite running back in Todd Gurley, arguably the best player in the league at any position in defensive tackle Aaron Donald, easily a top 10 defense in the league, and finally a franchise quarterback the Rams haven’t had since Kurt Warner or Marc Bulger in 2016’s No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff of the nearby California Golden Bears.

Not that the Rams have to make the NFC Playoffs in 2016, something the team hasn’t done since 2004, but Fisher’s group must show signs of balance on the offensive side of the ball and at least be in contention for an NFC Wild Card spot for him to get another year. If the Rams are 6-10 or worse, owner Stan Kroenke needs someone else to lead his on-the-rise NFC football team besides Fisher.
