156.
Original pick: Andrew Wiggins

The Cavs made the right decision,

Well, sort of.

As most NBA fans realize by this point, Andrew Wiggins is not, in fact, a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, but rather the Minnesota Timberwolves. Following the 2014 NBA Draft, Wiggins was flipped (along with some additional parts) to the Wolves in exchange for Kevin Love, but that transition has not stopped Wiggins from “earning” the top spot all over again.

The now 21-year-old swingman improved significantly in his second season, averaging 20.7 points per game with a 16.5 PER and a respectable 54.3% true shooting. It would be fair to suggest that Wiggins isn’t a “superstar” at this stage, but because there isn’t an obvious candidate for that label in this group, he is able to maintain the top spot by nature of his strong play.

There are real questions about Wiggins’ development, headlined by his questionable long-distance shooting and the fact that he hasn’t matured into the defensive stopper that some envisioned. Still, Wiggins is obscenely young to be averaging 20-plus points per game in the NBA, and as he ages alongside Karl-Anthony Towns in Minnesota, the Canadian star will have every opportunity to live up to the number one pick mantle in full.
.
