After what was a “down” year in 2013, the NBA Draft returned to the forefront in 2014 with a banner year in terms of talented prospects. The 2013 class was marred by a lack of elite talent, most notably in the fact that UNLV’s Anthony Bennett came off the board with the first overall pick, but the 2014 group produced impressive depth, including a defined top three at the time of the draft on June 26.

Still, no NBA Draft works out perfectly for every team involved, and with the benefit of two years of hindsight, we are better equipped to select players now than the league’s general managers would have been at the time. That leads us to an exercise to “re-boot” the 2014 draft class, moving through all 30 first-round selections in an effort to see how things should have gone on that fateful Thursday night.

From the top of the draft on, there is plenty of movement within our list, even if the top just might remain unchanged. It should be noted that no one was safe from descending on the board and, for good measure, we have made the first round re-do available even to those prospects that went undrafted in the 2014 class.

Now, let’s break it down, beginning with the top pick (Cleveland) and moving all the way to the 30th selection (San Antonio).
