3. Expanding Jimmy Butler’s role

Both before and after the trade, Jimmy Butler is the best basketball player on the Chicago Bulls. A strong two-way player who shows incredible defensive ability and a versatile skill-set on the offensive side of the court, Butler is the star for Chicago.

Butler is best with the ball in his hands as much as possible, and the Bulls are a better team when he is running the show. With all due respect to Rose, having a ball-dominant point guard playing with Butler is not an ideal situation.

Both players operate best with the ball in their possession. With Rose now in New York, the Bulls’ offense will now be led by Butler. Expect him to have a huge year in 2016-17, establishing himself as a true All-NBA player.

The Bulls are a better basketball team when Butler is able to consistently make plays in the offense as a scorer and distributor. With Rose out-of-the-way, Butler is going to shine.
