NBA Finals: 5 reasons why Cavaliers-Warriors was best of all-time
By JT Tomiyama
1. Best two teams and players in NBA going at it, again
The Golden State Warriors went 73-9, throttled and embarrassed anyone that came into their path. The Cleveland Cavaliers won 57 games and steamrolled the Eastern Conference on their way to the finals. They were destined to face each other in the Finals and I think it’s the series the NBA wanted, the fans wanted and basketball nuts wanted. Both teams had so much to lose, Golden State’s legendary season coming up short and the Cavs suffering heartbreak for the second consecutive year.
Steph Curry and LeBron James, The back-to-back MVP going up against a 4 time most valuable player. The two best players on the planet and they do it in different ways. James is a physical specimen that bully’s you to the rim and is a triple double threat every night. Curry is arguably the best shooter the games seen after making an NBA Record 402 threes, topping his own record of 286.
You can’t forget about the supporting cast these guys had. Curry had his splash bro Klay Thompson and the versatile Draymond Green. While LBJ had “Uncle Drew” Kyrie Irving and recieved a unique performance to say the east from Kevin Love.
The best part of this matchup was the fact these guys weren’t going to be buddy-buddy this series. They were going to trash talk, get in each others grill and go at each other. LeBron obviously had the upper hand and even getting some personal revenge with some nasty blocks.
