Chicago Bulls

Ever since February there have been at least some small rumblings of the Magic and Bulls discussing a deal of Jimmy Butler. That might have started with the Magic calling about Butler and the Bulls immediately hanging up.

The Bulls seems as open to dealing Butler as they are going to be at the moment. There have at least been some explorations for what they could get in a deal for him.

The Bulls will want to stay relevant, but are perhaps in need of a semi-complete tear down. If they want to remain competitive, keeping Butler is the way to go. But he may be their most valuable asset.

If the Bulls are planning a complete tear down, Vucevic and Oladipo are both solid players to begin with. They can keep a team afloat. Oladipo has shown a scoring knack in the past and he has a year to prove whether he is worth keeping or dealing away. Vucevic is a solid scorer. And a second lottery pick helps restock the cupboard.

The Magic though are certainly near the back of the line of Butler suitors. The Celtics have a lot of assets they can offer, although no one with the star potential Oladipo might have, and the Timberwolves have the fifth pick to dangle too.

The Magic should probably be calling the Bulls right after the Wolve use their fifth pick to se if the winds have changed. Butler is the kind of  two-way All Star that Orlando can really build around and attract someone this summer.
